The world is not what it was any more. Particularly Northern Africa and the Middle East are facing challenging times. The local population is in uproar; long established rulers are forced to resign and the population wants to determine the course of action. A scary world as we do not know what will happen next and where will it happen; will it be a civil war or might it be another earthquake and tsunami.
When ThePeaceBrokers Inc started the circle of giving and receiving in November we saw our programs; giving the teenagers the tools and the power to determine and implements what they thought was important for their community. We wanted to build on something they already have: their insights, their knowledge and their willingness to step in for the community. They want easy access to clean water, to have a reliable food supply chain, to have access to good education and start the way into great employment.
Get together with you neighbor, other communities, colleagues; it doesn’t make any difference. Do something. When you look at the pictures above you can see how poor the circumstances are; how the students are thrilled with a set of new schoolbooks; with a small present (and it can be as small as a balloon)

Listen to your heart. Would you like your child to grow up in these terrible circumstances? Can you see how they can go to a water pump and get some fresh water? Have a school breakfast, clean clothes and not having to stare in awe at strangers bringing presents.
Can you see the vocational school, eager students learning how to repair a tractor, a bike, a computer? Becoming self-sufficient in a sustainable way.
ThePeaceBrokers Inc approach problems creatively; we break down the walls you normally encounter. Come and travel with us to Kenya, Liberia, Kosovo, Turkey and see how we approach the problems at hand. Equally experience the incredible results of our work. Respect! Respect for each and thus honoring each other; Support each other regardless of where you are coming from or what your background is. The result: a new lease on life, a potential peaceful world and a youngster knowing how the world can be and willing to do his/her part in it.
Matt Grant:
Even though the end is not always certain, we ourselves are the means to get there. |
