Personnel

• A young man: Matt Grant has joined ThePeaceBrokers Inc as an intern/volunteer. He is very interested in development work and wants to be a part of the new developments. He is an excellent writer and will be involved as our grant writer, twitter and other social issues.
• Rosemarijn de Groot has also joined the ranks of ThePeaceBrokers Inc. She is a member of the Board of Directors and also a strategic planner and project manager. Her vision and creativity will serve our work well.

Fundraising

• The circle of giving and receiving sufficient funding to provide 3 schools in Kenya with the required books. During the late summer we will travel to Kenya and deliver the books personally onsite. Become part of "The Circle of Giving and Receiving"
• The grant request for the Liberia educational centers is still under consideration with the potential funder.

Donor update

As we did not hear anything from the corporation for a long time, we had a lot of questions of even the proposal was still alive. And, yes: there is movement and we hope to hear some great news within a month or two. (The background info: during the winter of 2009-2010 ThePeaceBrokers Inc was asked to prepare a detailed business plan as well as give a presentation to a potential sponsor. The great news is that the corporation has accepted ThePeaceBrokers Inc in their program of sustainable development. We are anxiously waiting to know the details and are ready to start working with several of the identified projects immediately.)

Programs to be completed once we know the details of the grant

• The Kosovo project
  Bringing the youth from Kosovo, Macedonia and Servia together and allow them a vision of their future
• The Kenya project.
  The partnership with KEFEADO, (www.kefeado.co.ke) and ROC, Hilversum/Amsterdam en omstreken can now begin. Lots of work has to be done, we all must join in and allow the teenagers in Kenya an equal chance to empowerment. Read more about the visit to Kenya.
• The Liberia project
  A student at the Peace Building Institute of the Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, VA/USA is preparing the grounds for a summit in 2010. The topic: building a democracy. First step: provide school books and uniforms for 50 schools around the country.
• Phase II of the initial summit held in 2004! 
  ThePeaceBrokers Inc. is anticipating a Phase II summit in the USA to bring together participants from the very first summit with the theme: “Practical solutions on war and terrorism ThePeaceBrokers, Inc. was founded as a result this summit. Several organizations have already committed to their participation. The think-tank of our activities starts here.
