Six degrees of separation; can we make it happen?

During the summit in Helsinki with the theme: MGD #1, eradicating poverty, one of the groups designed this great poster (which now hangs in the offices of UNICEF, the Netherlands). The message of the poster is clear:

The poor man is not he who is without a cent, but he who is without a dream
The prosperous man is not the one who has the cents but he who has the heart to share the cents.

You (being the participants) thought about it, you designed it, painted it. Money is the base for our summits, money must be there before we can invite anyone to come and be a participant.
We all can do something, as we all are connected with people in this world who want to work with you, with us and who have the means, the desire and the cash to do so. As we are only six steps away from that person or company or fund, let’s all send everyone you know this link, and see what happens.

We will keep you posted!

Six degrees of separation: refers to the idea that, if a person is one step away from each person they know and two steps away from each person who is known by one of the people they know, then everyone is an average of six "steps" away from each person on Earth. This means that each of us has six “connections” getting us to the person of company we would like to connect with.

The challenge in front of us is to bring the money together to host all the summits we would like. The experience has shown us that the summits are powerful, fun, bring new insights and allow each of the participants to make new friends, do new things, and take a different stand in life.

As you can see on the website the summit in Bulgaria had to be postponed as we were not able to raise the necessary funding for the event. Since ThePeaceBrokers Inc started their actual work we have connected with more than 80 organisations, written stacks of funding requests, and founded a Dutch (daughter) entity to ensure that all (corporate and private) sponsors worldwide could get their tax-deductions.  Name a foundation, name potential individual sponsors and we have had a conversation. Each one stated: great program, wow, what a vision, what a thought and what great results are you achieving with the youth of today. Your program should be in every school and each teenager in this world should be attending! Well, the program might be short-lived if the fundraising continues this way. Even the Executive Director of Cordaid (a major Dutch funding entity) recognized that our program is so unique and globally all encompassing that we would have quite a challenge qualifying for any of the current programs as they are all single focused.

The challenge offered: can we/you connect with as many people as you would like and see if we can connect with potential sponsors by doing the “six steps” of separation. Send the website link to all your friends, business and personal connections. www.thepeacebrokers.org. May the six steps bring the funding to ThePeaceBrokers Inc. so we can host the summits as planned and not having to worry about meeting the responsibilities which come with every summit.

Thank you for your support, your input and your energy. May the major sponsor come our way!
